Strong cooperation for perfect winter experiences

“Safe adventure” is the slogan of active tourism. So that your guests can enjoy the winter pleasure untroubled, we provide innovative solutions for more safety in your skiing area:


PASS - the Personal Avalanche Secure System – is used in helicopters in the event of avalanches. It allows embedded objects to be located in avalanche cones - which are often several hectares in size – within an extremely short space of time. Using the exact position data, helpers can then get to the buried people much more quickly and intervene to save lives. The basic development of this system was carried out by WINTERTECHNIK under its own auspices. A suitable research partner was sought for the further development and optimisation of PASS, especially for the solution of very special, scientific-technical questions, and this was found in the shape of alpS, the Centre for Natural Hazard and Risk Management. Since then, there has been a very productive and pleasant cooperation with this research centre in Innsbruck, which still continues today.

For the future, we are considering carrying out research and development work - in cooperation with alpS - aiming at the energy optimisation of snow machines – as a contribution to climate protection.
